1. You need to remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Do it through music at BAMCafe Live presents: Chanda Rule. The singer performs a tribute to King that includes a mix of new-jazz, gospel and soul. BAM Cafe, 30 Lafayette Ave., 9 p.m. (but get there early for a good seat), Free.
2. You need a night out. Head to The Way Station for the jazz, blues, county and rock sounds of Tin Pan Band. 683 Washington Ave., Free.
3. You need to get the kids out of the house. Head to the Pacific Library, 25 4th Ave. at Pacific St., where there is Preschool Story Time at 10 a.m. and Arts and Crafts at 4 p.m. Both free. See our weekly kids calendar for more options.
4. You need to know if your train is running ... If your train is the Q than no. There are no Q trains north of the Prospect Park station all weekend. You can take a shuttle bus at 7th Avenue to Atlantic (or walk) and catch the R to the city (not the N, that stops at Dekalb all weekend), according to the MTA.
5. ... And if you have to move your car. Today you do, but then you're good for Monday because alternate side will be suspended on Jan. 16 for MLK day, according to the NYCDOT.
